ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Ali and I am a multimedia science communicator. In Fall of 2021, I wrapped up my M.S. in Science Writing at MIT. I graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis in the Spring of 2020. At WashU, I studied Psychological and Brain Sciences, Writing, and Communication Design, and served as an editor of the University newspaper for three years.
I have always believed the best way to learn about anything is to write about it. By the third grade, I knew I wanted to be a writer. I was raised in St. Louis, Missouri by a doctor and a nurse, who taught me that accurate health information can be the most empowering and essential information a person can have. During high school, I realized I could combine my interests in writing and science. And so my interest in science writing began.
I'm currently supporting life science, consumer health, and space companies telling their stories at Verge Scientific Communications. I've interned with NASA's Goddard Spaceflight Center and MIT's School of Science. In college, I also freelanced and interned for several news publications, as well as the St. Louis County Department of Public Health, and NYU Langone Health. Moving forward, I hope to continue writing, editing, designing, and most importantly, learning.
