ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Ali and I am a multimedia science communicator. Currently, I'm the Communications and Events Specialist at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), developing compelling outreach materials and programs to engage key audiences with IGS's work in environmental justice. I'm driven to make scientific research accessible and I have a strong background in creating effective and actionable scientific communications.

Prior to joining IGS, in my role at Verge Scientific Communications, I supported a wide range of life and space science organizations in developing and sharing their stories. I also previously completed science communication internships at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, MIT School of Science, and NYU Langone Health, sharing each institution’s science with the public through written and multimedia storytelling and social media.

I earned an MS in Science Writing from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BA in Psychological and Brain Sciences with minors in Writing and Design from Washington University in St. Louis. Outside of reading/writing/chatting about science, I enjoy reading all types of books, crafting, exercising, being outdoors, cooking, and writing fiction.

I am currently accepting freelance science communication and journalism projects! Get in touch and let's chat.
